The Deep Earth Energy Research Laboratory, led by Professor Ranjith Pathegama Gamage, brings together researchers working on geothermal energy, CO₂ geosequestration, hydrogen storage and the rock mechanics of the deep subsurface.

Professor Ranjith leads the Deep Earth Energy Research Laboratory, directing research into how the earth’s deep subsurface can be engineered for cleaner energy — from stimulation methodologies for shale gas and depleted reservoirs to the long-term geological storage of carbon dioxide.
